Our successes have come through learning from, and working with others. Our journey has included multiple people over time. Our team members include:
Larisa Hotchin
Founder; Breeding Architech; Care, Conditioning, Showing
The passion behind Darwyn Welsh Terriers for breeding and showing. It includes everything you think it might (and a whole lot more). Some of the list includes breeding decisions and management, general care of the puppies and dogs, grooming, training, handling, ring presentation (and a whole lot of travel to shows); client care (with puppy owners), mentoring others, working with the other team members and web site development. And, of course, includes enjoying time with our dogs.
Michael Hotchin
Darwyn's 2IC; Head of Construction & Applied Engineering; Chief Snuggler
Michael’s key skills lay in building, and fixing, anything and everything. This includes physical things around the property or vehicles, as well as anything computer programming related. He’s also in charge of creating the beautiful prizes that Darwyn donates every year to the Welsh Terrier breed club (or any other club we choose to help). When Larisa is away at dog shows, he takes wonderful care of the dogs here.
Most importantly, he lives up to his title of Chief Snuggler and Ball Thrower.
Jennifer Driessen; CPHA
Canadian Show Handler
Located in Abbotsford BC, Canada, Jennifer has been working with dogs from Darwyn for over 15 years. When Michelle Yeadon retired, Jennifer became Larisa’s primary Canadian handler. While Larisa does handle many of her own dogs, she does not go to all of the shows she wants her dogs to attend, or will have multiple dogs that she wants to show. And, at times, it is nice to stand outside of the ring, watching her dog and evaluate how she or he looks. This is when she hires a professional to help with presentation, and care. These shows are primarily in Western Canada, and some select Western US shows.
Jennifer manages her own team. Everyone that she has working with her are professional, great with the dogs, and do a wonderful job presenting them.
