Larisa has focused on breed preservation since the 1990’s. Her Darwyn line is recognizable in both the show world, as well as communities her loving pets live in. We usually do not commit puppies for sale until we decide who will be part of future Darwyn generations. We do appreciate loving companion pet homes, and request an application. Sometimes we place adult dogs that we have loved here, which have worked out very well.
My ‘old’ website, which dates back to the 1990s, can still be seen here. It has additional dog, breed information and even more puppy photos!
Genetics are clearly important in health and temperament. However, early rearing, food, socialization, environment and general guidance are significant factors.
Dogs owned by Darwyn, that we breed, are DNA tested and are OFA-CHIC certified.
We do our best to use knowledge from our research, documenting our dogs, and listening to what puppy owners share with us. Realistically, there are no absolute guarantees in life with living beings.
We try our best to minimize issues through our breeding practices and owner-education.
We strive to produce the best quality dogs, raised in our home.
How puppies are raised in the first few months is very important. Through a scientific and hands-on approach, we provide our puppies with what they need to maximize the best outcome for them. Always looking to improve, we incorporate new insights as we learn them. We layer many of the ‘Puppy Culture‘ protocols, onto what we have learned works well to raise quality Welsh Terriers. The early days make a difference.
While the first 12 weeks is important, puppies continue to learn and owners must continue the work started here. For our breed, it is important for appropriate guidance and training to have the best family member for many years to come.
The learning, for both puppies and the people, should never stop.
We provide owners with the opportunity to connect with each other. Over the years there have have been casual friendships to share stories, as well as deep and lasting friendships. For those that choose to, it’s lovely to see the caring and knowledgeable community that has developed. Some have been in-person, while others connect remotely through social medial.

Over the years, we have had NINETEEN Welsh Terriers that have won WINNERS or HIGHER on the Terrier Mecca weekend of shows, known as Montgomery County weekend. These shows are always the first week of October, and are near Philadelphia in PA, USA. They include Morris & Essex (held every 5 years), Hatboro I and II, Devon and Montgomery County. Terriers from all over the world come together each fall. The Welsh Terrier Club of America (WTCA), holds it’s National Specialty, and associated events there. Here are a few Darwyn dogs that have been awarded there.

Life isn’t just about showing at Darwyn, we also enjoy living with our dogs.
Here are a few fun photos from over the years.
